Women underrepresented in STEM fields

A U.S. Dept. of Commerce report revealed that women continue to be underrepresented in professional fields like science, technology, engineering and math–areas commonly referred to as “STEM” in K-12 schools. The report went on to state that the U.S. could boost its global competitiveness if it increased the number of women in scientific fields.
